KIDS Are TOPS Managers at BBTC

Three of KIDS Are TOPS’ managers traveled to Las Vegas, NV last week, May 6-9, for the 2012 Business Brain Trust Conference. This annual conference, specifically for children’s activity center management, features speakers from around the world.

KIDS Are TOPS’ President and CEO, Gary Gantz, was a presenter at this international business conference. Mr. Gantz presented on various topics – Risk Management, Office Management and Professional Development and a Level 4 Business Course. Becky Stewart, our Front Office Manager, participated in Office Grades 2, with sessions in Career Progressions, Training, Customer Service and Improving Technology. Our General Manager, Melissa LaPeer, attended the Manager Grades 2 sessions, focused on Program Development and Customer Service (Child Emphasis).

Our managers returned with many ideas and are looking forward to implementing these exciting changes. One that we are proud to announce is our plan to go paperless, thus reducing our environmental impact. Stay tuned for additional changes and improvements!

January Students of the Month

Gymnastics: Rylee G.
Rylee has only been a level 1 gymnast for a few months and has already mastered her pullover and cartwheel. Her passion to learn and try new skills is contagious to her classmates. She always comes to class with a smile on her face! We love having Rylee in gymnastics and are proud to call her our January student of the month!

Dance: Kali M.
Kali is SO hard working. She always tries her best and has a need to learn more and improve herself. We are so happy to have such a dedicated dancer here at KIDS Are TOPS!

Cheer: Bella G.
Bella has been a student at KIDS Are TOPS since 2009. Bella, although only four years old, has been in swim classes, Tumble Bunnies, as well as her current Pee Wee cheer class. Bella is always a pleasure to have in class and the coaches look forward to having her as a student for a long time.

Swim: Andreas C.
All of Andreas’ previous instructors are amazed by his hard work and progress. He has worked very hard to achieve the skills of rotary breathing and freestyle. The back streamline glide was a challenge and he has conquered this as well. Great work, Andreas!

Tumble Bunnies: Stephanie R.
Stephanie has improved so much in the few months that she has been in Kinder Bunnies! Each and every week, she comes to class with a smile on her face and a positive attitude. She is wonderful to have in class!

Karate: Elden K.
Elden listens very well, tried hard, has good stances and a great attitude! Congratulations, Elden!

Snack Shack is Now Open!

KIDS Are TOPS’ Snack Shack is now open! Located just around the corner from the main hallway, towards Tumble Bunny Land and the pool, our Snack Shack offers a variety of great treats. Stop by for a slice of pizza, a hot dog, some nachos, popcorn, fruit cups, cookies, and more! Perfect for breaks in between classes, gymnastics team dinner break, or a quick bite to eat before a class. Our hours are as follows:

Monday-Thursday: 3:45-7:45 p.m.
Friday: 3:45-8:00 p.m.
Saturday: 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

December Students of the Month

Gymnastics: Jimmy K.
Jimmy is a leader in class. He is the oldest in class and accepts a lot of responsibility. The younger kids turn to Jimmy for help if I am busy with other boys in the class. He helps lift the younger kids to p-bars or just makes sure they are in line ready to take their turn. Several parents have come to me to tell me what a great help he is in the class. Jimmy is admired by his peers , his coach and the parents of kids in the class. Thanks Jimmy, you are a terrific young man.

Dance: Noelle V.
Noelle is always ready to work hard with a smile and a positive attitude. She is a wonderful leader in all of her classes and is very dedicated while working individually in her tap solo class. She is always ready to learn something new and practices until she gets it right. We are proud to have her in our competitive dance company!

Cheer: Mira S.
Mira has been a student at KIDS Are TOPS since 2009. Mira excelled as a TOPS All-Star for the 2010-2011 season. Mira has continued to advance her skills by taking tumbling classes. Mira has always been a pleasure to coach and we look forward to seeing Mira grow as an athlete and an individual.

Swim: Samantha P.
Samantha has worked so hard over the past few months to swim the right way all the way down the pool and finally did it! She is an outstanding worker and so much fun! She deserves it!

Tumble Bunnies: Owen D.
Owen is a very hard worker and an extremely good listener. He always tries his best and never gives up. He is a hard worker and always comes to class with a smile. Congratulations, Owen on being the Tumble Bunny Student of the Month!

Karate: Amaya H.
Amaya has an excellent attitude, awesome flutter kicks and consistent attendance! Great work, Amaya!

Santa Claus is Coming to Town!

November Students of the Month

We are starting a Student of the Month program here at KIDS Are TOPS! Each venue will nominate a student each month that has displayed a great attitude, determination, or any other qualities that makes him/her a star student!

Gymnastics: Danica B.
Danica is enjoying her first few months in level 1 gymnastics after moving up from Tumble Bunnies. She works extremely hard at all of her new skills and is learning quickly. Danica is always the first to volunteer to demonstrate a station or help her coaches and friends with any task. We are proud to name Danica our first Student of the Month in gymnastics!

Dance: Carrington H.
Carrington has perfect attendance and always brings a great attitude to class. She follows directions really well and leads by example. She pays great attention to detail and is a hard worker. Great job, Carrington!

Cheer: Logan C.
Logan has been a student at KIDS Are TOPS since 2008. Being a former All-Stars cheerleader and a cheerleader at her school, Logan has a very well-rounded cheer background. She consistently takes time out of her own schedule to continue developing her skills. Logan is a very hardworking and dedicated student. We are proud to congratulate Logan on becoming cheer’s first Student of the Month!

Swim: Phyllis F.
Swim is excited to announce Phyllis as our Student of the Month! She just got her violet ribbon and finally got her flip turns! Congratulations, Phyllis!

Tumble Bunnies: Paige R.
Paige has been a student at KIDS Are TOPS for a year and has worked so hard perfecting her donkey kick and forward rolls! She always has a smile on her face and is willing to help out new students. Her infectious laugh and great personality make us proud to call her our first Student of the Month!

Karate: Alexis H.
We are happy to name Alexis as our first Student of the Month! She stands out due to her consistency, attendance, attitude, how well she pays attention in class and her awesome pushups! Great work, Alexis!

Swimmers – Send a letter to Coach Zach!

Coach Zach Mathis is leaving for basic training at Fort Sill in Oklahoma in November, where he will be until graduation in January. He will then complete his auto mechanic training at Fort Lee in Virginia.

KIDS Are TOPS swimmers and parents are encouraged to send Private Zach Mathis a piece of home! If you would like to say hello to Coach Zach, feel free to write letters and send pictures (*make sure to include your name).. the more the better! Drop your letters and pictures in the basket by the door or give them to Coach Jessica.
